The Golden Elite Founded: June, 2001 Founded by: Cari (Elite Sahara) & Connie (Elite Fantasy??) Opening Date: June, 2001 Reason Opened: Cari & Connie were both Assistant managers at The Rumbles, and when Mystical Grrl took the comp back over, the ideas that all three had for the comp did not mesh, hence Cari and Connie decided to leave and form their own. VE or NVE: Vote Exchange Slogan: Unknown Original Ideas: Unknown History: Cari and Connie formed the Golden Elite after they left The Rumbles because of disagreements with the owner on how the competition should be run. In 2004, several members of the Golden Elite competition decided to leave and ended up forming their own competition, Heart-n-Soul. The Golden Elite shut down for a few months to regroup and reorganize. In February of 2006, The Golden Elite changed to have both a VE and NVE side. However, the NVE side for this comp means that you have less than 20 vote exchangers, and you do not put your site onto vote boards. Therefore, for The World of Web Comps site we classify this as a 'NVEish' competition as it is not entirely NVE. During the summer of 2006, The Golden Elite decided that the NVE side wasn't working, and went back to being a completely VE competition. The competition also changed its url at this time to add a - in the middle of golden and elite. At the end of January, 2007, The Golden Elite comp decided to shut its doors.
