Mystickal Realms Mystickal Realms was the first competition which allowed 'darker' sites to join into the competition. Founded: February, 2002 Founded by: Yvanna and Aragorn Opening Date: February, 2002 Reason Opened: Yvanna and Aragorn thought it would be nice for New Age/Pagan sites to have a competition of their own to be involved in, and it would allow those 'darker' sites to join that most competitions would not allow to compete. VE or NVE: Vote Exchange Slogan: A New Kind of Website Competition Original Ideas: The competition accepted some sites that most other comps would have turned down. History: (as told by Yvanna) Back in February of 2002 Aragorn and myself were tired of competing, but we still wanted to be involved in the competition world in some way. Well, we both applied to be TL's at a competition that no longer exists and found very quickly that being TL's for that owner wasn't for us. So, I got approached by someone that was creating a new competition and was asked to be the Manager, and Aragorn was going to be a TL, and because of a break in language, she misunderstood a "slang term" used here in America, tore down what we had done, changed all passwords and before we knew it we were out. So, instead of putting up with all of that, we decided to create our own competition, but I knew that we had to make it different than any other competition out there...Aragorn is Pagan, so I figured why not make a competition that based on New Age/Pagan sites, at the time they really had no other place to compete, as the "darker" sites were not allowed to compete anywhere, so we gave them a place. We started out on Angelfire, and had MANY problems with bandwidth and things like that so finally we broke down and got a domain of our own. We started off with just Aragorn, myself, and a couple of other friends, after a little while Emeraldisle joined in, and when our original Gothic team leader left without a word, Vampire Prince agreed to take over and has been an asset to the competition ever since. I am not going to say that we were the first that had a "Pagan" theme, however I believe that we are the first that let the "darker" vampire sites join our competition.
