Little Dragon Castle Little Dragon Castle is one of the few NVE comps running. Founded: December 23, 2000 Founded by: Peggy Von Steenput Opening Date: December 23, 2000 Reason Opened: Peggy wanted to provide a community on the internet that was safe for children. The website competition was included as an activity for the parents. VE or NVE: No Vote Exchange. Slogan: Unknown Original Ideas: LDC is first and foremostly a community, the website competition is simply an added addition for the members to have fun with. In addition LDC has a script on their vote pages that stops spam from getting through. History: LDC was started in 2000 by Peggy Von Steenput. The competition was started at the same time for the parents of the children taht would visit. A kids competition was considered, but the idea was abandoned. The Castle was attacked by hackers in 2001, which is when Don Geske (Thistledown) was asked to write the Little Dragon Castle story. He based it on the attack that had happened, and made the story about the Silver Knight gathering together an army of the Castle members assisted by the dragon from Wyvern's Cave. On October 5, 2003, Peggy Von Steenput left the ownership of LDC to Thistledown. She had two teenage sons and had opened a Cattery which was demanding a lot of her time - which led to not enough time to run the Little Dragon Castle. Thistledown, as the new owner, asked Lady Raphaeli (Letha Schanlaub) and Hezzie (Heather Mason) to become Co-Owners with him, and now all three are equally in charge of the castle and managing everything.
