End of the Week Aug 25 - 29

Hey everyone! Wow, I’m updating! *smiles* I know its been a bit of a rough summer which me not updating all the time - that should change now that the kids start school again on Tuesday. So…. things should get better And now, for this weeks results:

Fantasy Fights - I did not win, so I am staying at the top team level for another week

Little Dragon Castle - won 2nd place, which means I advance to the Jousters camp

The Rumbles - came in 2nd place in the bottom level, so am moving on up to the middle level!

The Site Fights - 1st place, woohoo! upwards to the top team level

Summer Fun - lost miserably, so back down to team level

Web Town - won at the top team level, so am moving upwards this coming week to the first upper level - wish me luck! with the spirit page comp here, I am doing quite badly! second last place, so if you wish to give me a vote this coming week there, it would be greatly appreciated!!

and that’s it for this week…. some more comps open up this coming week, and even more for the week of September 8th! So there should be lots going on in the upcoming weeks! I will be writing a little later today with more information

End of the week news Aug 11 - 15, 2008

Hey everyone! I know, I’ve gotten behind again. I’ll be happy when summer is over and I have more time!! Until that time - two weeks from now - I’m just going to do the best that I can to update this blog. I hope everyone understands Now then, the results for last week were:

Little Dragon Castle - I won!! woohoo! Not sure how that happened, but yay!! Wish me luck for this ocming week, if I won then I’ll have two wins in a row

Oldie Goldies - I believe I moved up in this level, but the scores weren’t posted as of yet when I looked over the weekend.

The Rumbles - lost!

The Site Fights - Lost!

Southern Dreams - lost

Summer Fun - got second place, but apparently that is good enough to move up, so yay!

Web Town - got second place, so upwards to the TOP level - wish me luck!

A closed comp and a new comp

Thanks to Mark Hyder I found out about two important things happening in the comp world. (Thanks Mark!)

The first is sad news in that the Cinnamon Gum Awards has shut down now. Mark was so good as to even write to Nile to find out why they shut down for me. So I shall be updating the timeline with the new information shortly! (well, okay it might be tomorrow as I am tired right now and ready to go collapse, but shortly is in less than 24 hours *smiles*)

The second news is that a new comp is opening up. Some of the leaders of the now closed Heart N Soul web competition have decided to branch out and start up their own. Its Called Dreamers Odyssey and you can find it here: http://dreamersodyssey.com/

They are not accepting applications until August 15th, so you’ll have to hold off on joining for now, but go and check it out anyway - looks like it will be a neat comp!

and that’s all the news!

and now I have a question for everyone… there are a lot of people around the web comp world that let me know when things are happening - and I thank them immensely for that. Do you think that I should also thank them on this board? Or should I ask them first if they want to be mentioned? I’ve always just not said because I didn’t want anyone to get “into trouble” or anything like that… so what do you all think? all commens are welcome!

Beginning of the Week News Aug 4 - 8, 2008

Okey dokey, we’re getting more into the swing of things now - 7 comps open this week! yay!

Little Dragon Castle - roster and award received, am in the second most upper level this week, wish me luck!

Oldie Goldies - I”m not sure if I received a roster here - it can get kind of confusing cause I think the person that runs this team also runs my team at Southern Dreams and Summer Fun, so I have probably received it! *smiles* I usually do, so I am at the team level though and I don’t think I’ll win, but you can come and vote for me anyway

The Site Fights - roster received, am at team level, the same level as last week.

Southern Dreams - roster received, at team level

Summer Fun - roster received, am at an upper level. Not sure how long my luck will hold out here - so far I’ve been pretty lucky, but that can’t last too long

Web Town - roster received, am at team level this week. also joined the spirit page comp, so wish me luck there and maybe cast a vote my way this week?

Zoid - I hardly ever win this comp, so all votes are appreciated, thanks!

End of the week news 8/1

Hiya everyone! Sorry for the delay again, summer’s horrible for trying to find time to come online! Especially this weekend as my husband is going away for two days on business and I had to get Chloe all ready to go to camp this week. Just a day camp, so she’ll come back each night Anyway, here we go!

Little Dragon Castle - 1st place, hurray! Up to the next level

The Site Fights - I think I placed third here, but I didn’t go on Saturday to see, so I’m guessing at that. However, I will still be in the same level this coming week, so yeah

and that’s it! Only two open comps this week - I thought Summer Fun was open at the beginning of the week, but it turned out that I was wrong! oops There are a bunch of comps opening up for this coming week though, so I’ll be writing again in a few minutes

Beginning of the Week News July 28 - Aug 1

Summer Fun - moving on up to the next level. I think I received a roster for this one, but am kind of confused about it… so we’ll leave it at that

End of week news July 21 - 25

eek, yes, I know, I’ve been bad again! I’m so sorry… it just seems so hard to stay on top of things this summer! I shall do my best until the fall and then hopefully things will calm down a little as the kids will be back in school In any case, here is how I fared this last week:

Little Dragon Castle - came in first, yay! Up to the next upper level

Oldie Goldies - back to the team level. Sadly, I would have come in first place if the comp didn’t give out points for cheering. ah well.

Southern Dreams - well, I thought I was moving back to the team the next week they are open (they are closed this coming week) but I seem to still be listed at the upper level and the pages have been updated… I’ll have to look into this

Summer Fun - came in third, am moving up to the next level!

TSF - I was told that TSF was going to open this last week, but apparently not cause the scores didn’t go up all week! LOL I just heard from my team leader today, though I haven’t read the message yet, so I’m assuming that we are opening for this coming week. I shall let you know

Zoid -lost by 2 votes and I think I ended up in third place.

Heart N Soul is closing & TWF

I received a copy of this email from a friend of mine which is from the head of Heart N Soul:

Hello everyone,

I have been talking to our foundation about HNS and the future of HNS. I have been heavy into my web hosting and design company and I have been designing many sites this summer. I would like to keep doing this. But in order for me to continue, I am going to need to devote my time there. I am going to be closing HNS.

Yes, that’s my official word on it, HNS will be closed again. I am not sure if I will ever re-open it. I will miss it and everyone here. But I do plan on keeping the forum open, and all the staff’s emails should still be working.

I want to thank everyone on the foundation that has dedicated their time and efforts here. Because of all of you, I believe HNS is the best competition in history. And to our wonderful members, thank you! If not for you, we wouldn’t have had anything to work for. You gave us that light, thank you!

I do know that some of our staff has their own comps and other staff members would like to start their own, so show them the same support you have shown us. I just ask that HNS please gets the respect that it should, that everyone remembers HNS for what it was. Thank you so much each and everyone of you for your heart, dedication and time. I will miss the heck out of HNS but I can’t dedicate to it like it deserves

and there it goes…as most of you know I am not a member of Heart N Soul because I didn’t agree with their policies, but it is always sad when a competition shuts down.

as for other news, I’ve heard that the Wild Frontier has reversed their decision and is staying open. I am also not a member of this comp, but I will keep you all updated the best that I can

I’m also not sure if George Hushman’s new comp ‘The Wild West’ will stay open now that TWF is still open… I’ll let you know if I hear anything

Beginning Week News July 14 - 18

Hiya again! LOL This weekend was kind of crazy with having a rummage sale and my sister and her three kids over. Seriously… if I thought I was going mad on Friday from being around MY kids, well you should have seen me by the end of the weekend! Seriously, I thought I was going to have a mental breakdown. It gets really tiring because her kids are kind of wild and don’t really listen to my sister and her husband, and so I’m generally the one who has to tell them off and make them listen, and well… it’s just not my job. So I get tired from kids in general, but also I’m then watching six kids instead of just my normal three.. *sigh* but anyway… back to the comps!

Little Dragon Castle - I did receive a participation award for the Royal seat, but as you all know from my last post, I did not win a second week. I’m not sure if they told me that I was going back to team level in that message or not… so we’ll count if as they did but yep, back to the team level!

Oldie Goldies - in the team level this week, wish me luck! roster received

The Rumbles - also in the bottom level… I’m not doing too well am I? roster received

Southern Dreams - in the first upper level, but I believe they count cheers, which I don’t do, so probably won’t win. still it would be nice to get some extra votes there roster received

Summer Fun - last week I qualified, so moved on up with everyone else to first team level. roster received

and that’s it for this week! That kind of the nice thing about the summer… the comps are a more relaxing world cause so many are closed! LOL

End of week July 7 - 11

Hiya everyone! Okay, here is the end of the week information!

Little Dragon Castle - placed second, which is pretty good, but it does mean that I have to start all over again!

Oldie Goldies - last place! LOL I go back to the team. The reason that I didn’t win this one - or at least that I came in last place - is because I don’t cheer and this particular competition gives points on your score for cheering. Just something to think about when you decide to join the various competitions - whether or not they give extra points on their scores for cheering and other things, and whether or not you do those things currently or you want to do them in anycase, I did not win

The Rumbles - lost here as well, so back down to the bottom level!

TSF - I learned through some friends that The Site Fights has actually been closed for the last two weeks. Its kind of upsetting that they didn’t write to us and let us know that. I believe that they are opening again at the end of July, but I couldn’t say for sure… hopefully I will hear from my team leader soon and I can let you all know what is going on!

Southern Dreams - I actually won! LOL so out of the team level and onto the first upper level!yay!

Summer Fun - qualified

Zoid - lost miserably. ah well
